The Club Bar is the livelihood of Rowing at the Club and is mainly supported by non-rowers.

Live Folk and Acoustic Music
We have a very successful RIVERSIDE FOLK AND ACOUSTIC CLUB that meets in the Function Room on the first Thursday of every month for an OPEN MIC. EVENING. Often attracting as many as 20 different artists and an audience of more than 60, they're great nights and display considerable local musical talent. These evenings are organised by local Music Shop owner Matt Worley and Gary Davis. The Club is also indebted to its charismatic MC and long-long-time rower 'MC Rude Richard Lloyd'!

The Club also organises the occasional Folk Gig featuring a major band or artist. Martin Carthy, John Renbourn, Lindisfarne, Vin Garbutt and many more have already graced our stage.

Rock / R&B Music
(R&B .... that's Rhythm and Blues, not the ghastly stuff we suffer blaring from Corsas and Saxos!)
We have some great electric bands at the club including local favourites Blind Lemon and The Starving Rascals.

There's plans to start a weekly Rhythm and Blues Club later in the year ..... watch this space.

Wednesdays are a good lively social evening, famous for the unofficial debating society, sometimes known as the 'alternative committee' !

There's also the successful SBC Crib Team which plays on Wednesdays in the Winter.

Others events include Live Music, Quizzes and the usual seasonal stuff including Christmas Parties, New Year, Port and Stilton etc.

Club Functions
Notably, the Junior Dinner Dance and the Christmas Pudding Races.

Each June, the Works Fours Regatta is a particularly great day out. And, of course the main Regatta is an action-packed local spectacle.
