The 'London Times' published a picture of the Stourport Boat Club winning the junior clinker eights on the London Serpentine. The Hughes twins, David and John, were in the winning crew, as were recent Old Boys, Harry Hodgkinson, Brian Bailey and John Mitchell. The Hughes twins, with Hodgkinson and Bailey also won in the same period of three weeks the Maiden Fours at Gloucester and the Junior Fours at the Mumbles.
