2 Wins for Stourport Boat Club ... 1976

Stourport had two firsts, a second, and a fourth in various divisions at the Worcester Scullers Head last weekend. The invicible NickBirkmyre returned yet another fine performance to win the event straight in a time of 15.23;18 seconds clear of his nearest rival.
Duncan Gwilliam won his first sculling event by taking the Junior Novice division in a time of 17.31, just 3 seconds ahead of his nearest rival, Henry Evans also of Stourport. These were two very encouraging results as both are very new to sculling and are already showing much promise. Both times would have won the Novice division which bodes well for the coming season.
Richard Lloyd finished fourth in the Senior C division in a time of 16.48, while his brother, Peter, competing for the first time in nearly eighteen months finished a sedate 9th of 9 in the same class, still well ahead of many other status scullers.
The club will be racing at Hereford Small Boats Head this weekend against some tough local opposition before preparing for the cross-country run on December 11th 1976
