Queen's Silver Jubilee Regattas ... 1977
Stourport’s Jubilee Regattas have attracted a total of 322 entries over next week-end, ensuring plenty of action and entertainment for spectators, there will be racing from 10.30 a.m. until 6.30 p.m. on both days with clubs arriving from as far a field as Devon, London, Newcastle and Cardiff.
Stourport Boat Club, the hosts, will be competing in twelve events on Saturday and fifteen on Sunday, and it is hoped for some local wins.
The largest entry received has been from the other local club, Bewdley Rowing Club, whose total entry fees amount to £140 over the two days.
With the club recently painted by club members, and the final preparations due for completion during the week, it is hoped the weather will pick up, enticing local people to come and support this regatta, consistently one of the largest rowing events in the country.
