A New Boathouse to be Erected ... 1901

The great need of the Boat Club for a considerable time past has been a decent boat house. The question was discussed at the annual meeting and a committee was appointed to consider the matter. A final step was taken at the meeting held on Monday evening. It was decided to build a boat club house on the Areley side of the river in the field belonging to Mr Zachary Lloyd. It will be a two-storey structure, with balcony and most pleasantly placed. The Club has been purchasing a considerable number of boats, and the arrangements which are being made for the convenience of members who join the club for pleasure and not for racing are such that a large membership should be at once obtained.
