The Boat Club ... 1901 There is a disposition on the part of many residents both at Stourport and Kidderminster to become members of the Boat Club if more attention could be paid to the needs of those who make use of the river boats for pleasure and not racing purposes. For sometime nothing has been done by the officials to encourage a membership of that kind. The Club has possessed few new pleasure boats for use and the boat house has offerd no attractions. With a balance in hand the committee ought to at once erect a new boat house. A capital site on the Areley side of the river has been secured, and before the boating season is far advanced a new building should be erected on the land. 13/4/1901 |
